In this short performance video, an emoji-like protagonist moves through a series of television interruptions/glitches in the form of a non sequitur news report, nonverbal infomercial, and an analog slide show, which sometimes takes pause on weird cadaver-like photographs of consumer products. Occupying the in-between, both literally in two-dimensional makeshift worlds and as a physical trope, she travels between states, moods, and punctuated postures and memories. Reflections on hamburgers, dead malls, and D.W. Winnicott’s object relations theory are some of the conjured fragments from her very serious speech, all taken together as a short-form, morphing digital cartoon.
