Commissioned by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Gibney in New York City, along with the ODC Theater in San Francisco, Grandma draws upon an American south, as it connects to my personal family lineage. I look to failure and humor as strategies to unravel white aesthetic norms that shape American media and culture.
